Mughal Gardens to open for public from Feb 12
The magnificent Mughal Gardens in Delhi will open to the public on Saturday and will be open to the public till March 16.
Visitors will be allowed to see the Gardens only through advance online booking, according to a statement released by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday. As a cautious measure in light of the Covid-19 incident, walk-in entry will not be possible this year, as it was last year, according to the statement.

On Thursday, President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated Rashtrapati Bhavan’s annual “Udyanotsav.”
“The Mughal Gardens will be open to the public from February 12, 2022 to March 16, 2022 (excluding Mondays, which are maintenance days) between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs (last entry at 1600 hrs),” according to the announcement.
Between 10 p.m. and 5.00 p.m., seven pre-booked hourly slots will be available. At 4 p.m., the last entry will be accepted. A maximum of 100 people can fit into each slot.
During the tour, visitors must follow to Covid protocols such as mask wearing, maintaining social distance, and so on. At the entry point, they will be preheated screening. A mask will be required for all visitors.
All guests will enter and exit by Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, which is located near the intersection of North Avenue and Rashtrapati Bhavan. Visitors are allowed to bring their phones with them throughout the visit, according to the statement.
They are not, however, permitted to bring water bottles, briefcases, handbags, or ladies purses, cameras, radios, or transistors, boxes, umbrellas, arms and ammunition, or food.
At various spots along the public path, hand sanitizers, drinking water, bathrooms, first aid, and medical facilities are available. The highlight of this year’s Udyanotsav will be 11 varieties of Tulips, which will blossom in stages throughout February.
In the Central Lawns, there will also be Flower Carpets with exquisite designs. This year’s ornamental flowers have a predominant color scheme of white, yellow, red, and orange. In the gardens, a tiny cactus area has been created, as well as other air-purifying plants.
